Wine Reviewer Jeb Dunnuck says,"The 2021 Grenache is also terrific. Based on 88% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre, and a splash of Syrah, it has a great nose of spiced dark cherries, jammy blackberries, ground pepper, and savory herbs. Rich, medium to full-bodied, and nicely concentrated, this ripe, sexy, incredibly complex Grenache will drink nicely through 2033 if well stored." 93
Wine Critic Owen Bargreen says, "This 2021 Grenache is mostly from the Caliza estate but also
two other vineyards. Stored for 20 months in large format French oak barrels, this will
be released in April 2024. The nose is beautifully perfumed with red rose petals,
roasted figs, shades of cardamom and orange peel with dried herbs. The palate is
plush and beautifully textured. The combination of chalky soils and weight here really
makes your mouth water. While standing tall at 16% alcohol, you will never guess that
with one sip. Drink 2024-2038" 95.
Wine critic Erin Brooks says, "The 2021 Grenache matured for 20 months in French oak. It has a pretty, pure perfume of pomegranate, raspberry, Angostura bitters, autumn leaves and botanical undertones. The full-bodied palate is bursting with fragrant, spicy fruit. It has a chalky frame, fireworks of fresh acidity and a long, nuanced finish. 150 cases were made, and it will be released in the spring of 2024." 94
Wine critic Lisa Perrotti-Brown says, "Medium garnet-purple in color, the single-varietal 2021 Grenache prances out with showy notes of raspberry preserves, kirsch, and spice cake plus touches of red roses and black pepper. The full-bodied palate is plush and juicy, with a nice savory character in the background and a fragrant finish." 93
Wine critic Eric Guido of Vinous says, "Blue- and purple-toned florals give way to dried strawberries and hints of sage as the 2021 Grenache comes to life in the glass. Cool-toned and lifted, this possesses a lovely blend of silken textures and ripe wild berry fruits, all guided by zesty acidity. It finishes with a lovely reverberation of tension and violet inner florals, leaving sweet tannins to linger on. What a pleasure." 92
