Wine critic, Jeb Dunnuck says, "The 2019 Grenache is certainly outstanding and a terrific example of the variety, which can be more difficult in California. Deep ruby/plum-hued, with a lifted bouquet of kirsch, candied violets, ground pepper, and herbes de Provence, it’s medium to full-bodied, has ripe, polished tannins, and a great finish. Drink it over the coming 5-7 years." 93-Points
Wine critic, Owen Bargreen says,"This 100% varietal bottling by Carl Bowker unveils very pretty high-tones with the red rose petals that combine with orange blossom and red cherry cordial. The palate is deep and concentrated with a great core of red fruits that combine with loamy soils and shades of white pepper. The bright acidity holds everything together. This is outstanding wine to consume now, as the 2019 Caliza Grenache will drink well beyond the ten years mark. Drink 2022-2034" - 94 pts
Wine critic, Josh Reynolds of Vinous says, "Deep, vivid ruby. A highly expressive bouquet evokes Chambord, blueberry, smokey minerals and incense, and a floral note builds as the wine opens up. Sappy and expansive in charater, offering palate-staining red and blue fruit and lavender pastille flavors that put on weight and turn spicier with air. Conveys an appealing blend of richness and finishes gently tannic very long, leaving repeating floral and spice notes behind. All used French oak. Drink 2024 - 2033" - 93 pts
